With Fayerweather’s classic
blue hull, she blends perfectly into a New England
waterfront, but don’t be fooled. This 60-foot,
narrow design is equipped with twin 420HP Yanmar
engines and Hamilton Waterjets, giving her a top
speed of over 35 knots.
Naval architect Penn Edmonds designed
the narrow deep-V hull with a constant deadrise,
which results in excellent sea-keeping abilities
and the ability to maintain a steady cruising
speed of 30 knots in most conditions.
What sets her apart from other boats
her size, the owner has said, is “speed,
shallow draft, and maneuverability.” To
keep weight below 25,000 pounds, GCB used a sandwich
of glass over Baltek’s variable density
SuperLight coring material. This core provides
excellent strength-to-weight characteristics and
the pre-preg glass requires less resin, giving
advantageous resin-to-fiber weight ratios.
Yanmar 6LY2-STE 420HP engines and
Hamilton HJ321 waterjets provide outstanding efficiency,
reliability, acceleration, and maneuverability,
as well as low noise and vibration.
Along with the spacious pilothouse,
with its all-encompassing views, the yacht’s
interior features a forward cabin with V-berth
and head, an aft cabin with extra-wide twin berths,
TV and desk, and a galley/dining area.
