Eric
Goetz founded Goetz Custom Boats in 1975 and has since
set the standard for building state of the art composite
boats. What makes a Goetz boat different from any other
is the unerring attention to detail – whether
in construction techniques or the quality of craftsmanship
that is unsurpassed in the industry. Through every phase
of every project, Goetz’ “no-stone-unturned”
philosophy is coupled with leading edge technology to
produce the lightest, fastest, most durable yachts possible
– impeccably finished to suit the purpose.
Involvement at the most competitive levels
has required that Goetz constantly be on the leading
edge of boat building technology, and always seek new
ways to build faster, stronger boats. Considerable effort
is put into research and development; through ongoing
experimentation and association with marine and aerospace
engineering, Goetz has consistently improved its abilities
to meet the most demanding design criteria.
Our pre-preg technology allows us to build
the lightest, fastest, most durable yachts possible.
Time and again, Goetz boats have proven themselves in
the most competitive arenas, having emerged victorious
in the America’s Cup, Admiral’s Cup, and
Maxi Worlds. Goetz boats have also competed successfully
in the TP52 circuit, the Whitbread/Volvo race, Transpac,
Kenwood Cup, Southern Cross Series, Sardinia Cup, and
countless other regattas around the world.
Through our experience of over 30 years
in business, GCB has learned to make efficient use of
the time of our technicians and craftsmen, who have
an average of over ten years’ tenure with the
company. As a result, our boats are often built in less
time than other builders require.
From a client’s perspective, Goetz’s capacity
and collaborations make it the ideal choice for building.
An in-house engineering team provides a full time naval
architect and draftsmen with AutoCAD, AutoSHIP, Rhino
with Flamingo rendering, and AlphaCAM with V-Carve Pro
CNC software, all to enhance seamless communications
with the designer and engineering firms of the client’s
choice. We provide owner representatives/project managers
with their own offices, with telephone, fax, and wireless
internet, giving them immediate access to their projects
and suppliers as well as our build team.
In addition, a custom metal fabrication
shop is adjacent, with all safety equipment, mechanical,
electronics, hydraulic, electrical, graphics and canvas
vendors local to the Goetz shop. Hall Spars, Southern
Spars, Harken, Lewmar, Reckmann, and Navtec are all
also locally represented.
